Is There a Machine to Make Spring Rolls?

Maintaining consistency, efficiency, and hygiene are major challenges for large-scale spring roll production companies. Manual rolling is slow, labor-intensive, and prone to inconsistencies in shape, filling distribution, and sealing.

This is where automated spring roll production machines come in handy—designed to handle large production volumes while ensuring precision at every step.

How a Spring Roll Machine Works

A fully automated spring roll production line integrates multiple processes into a seamless workflow:

Dough Forming

  • A batter mixture of flour and water is poured onto a heated drum or conveyor belt. Within seconds, the dough is formed into a thin, continuous sheet. The thickness is set by a gap roller and remains constant across the entire width.

Spring Roll Wrapper Cutting

  • A rotary knife cuts the spring roll wrapper into square or round shapes. The blade spacing is fixed; edge burrs are minimized. The spring roll wrapper is picked up by a vacuum suction cup and placed in a perfectly aligned pattern on the next conveyor belt.

Filling Delivery

  • A piston filler delivers meat, vegetable, or mixed fillings to each spring roll wrapper. Portion size can be adjusted by changing the timer. If the weight deviates, an over- or under-weight alarm stops the conveyor. This ensures consistent heat and cost per spring roll wrapper.

Folding and Rolling

  • A mechanical folder first closes the edges and then rolls the sheet into a tight cylinder. The fold angle is set by a cam. The operator can switch between single-fold, double-fold, or open-fold styles in just minutes by changing the plate.

Delivery to Fryer or Freezer

  • The output conveyor delivers the rolls directly to the fryer, oven, or spiral freezer. The conveyor speed is constant throughout all steps, eliminating accumulation or drying time.

Key Advantages Over Manual Operation

  • Production: A single line can produce 3,000 to 12,000 rolls per hour, equivalent to the output of 20 to 80 manual workers.
  • Uniformity: Each roll has the same weight and seam position, reducing oil splashing and debris during frying.
  • Manpower: Only two people are required to operate the line—one at the filling hopper and one at the packaging station. Hygiene: The enclosed conveyor and tool-free components reduce cleaning time to less than 30 minutes.
  • Flexibility: Using preset recipes on the touchscreen, changing to a new package size or filling takes less than 10 minutes.

Is special training required?

The line is equipped with wheels. Once connected to water, electricity, and air, a technician can start up the line in just two days. Operators simply learn how to adjust weight and folding methods on the screen; no machine experience is required.
